Atlantic City, NJ (October 10, 2023) – The 84th Mr. America Sports Festival in Atlantic City bore witness to a groundbreaking event as the Vegan Strong PlantBuilt team redefined the boundaries of strength and athleticism, while simultaneously challenging misconceptions about vegan diets. This remarkable display of plant-powered prowess saw the team amass a staggering 41 medals, including an impressive 32 first-place victories, across a diverse range of disciplines including Powerlifting, Strongman, CrossFit, and Kettlebell.

Mission Redefined: Proving the Power of Plants

At the core of Vegan Strong and PlantBuilt's mission is a resounding statement: "Plants have all the protein you need." This mantra was unequivocally validated as the team emerged as a force to be reckoned with at the Mr. America competition. Their resounding success unequivocally disproved the stereotype that vegans are weak and incapable of building muscle or excelling in competitive strength sports.

A Dominant Display of Strength: Ryan Stills

The team was led by the exceptional Ryan Stills, a five-time World Champion and 2021 World's Best Lifter. Stills demonstrated his unmatched strength by securing eight first-place victories in the powerlifting 125kg class, a feat that placed him miles ahead of his closest competitor. His combined lift of 1884 pounds, including a remarkable 750-pound deadlift, earned him the title of Best Overall Lifter.

A Vibrant Atmosphere of Camaraderie

The event atmosphere was nothing short of electrifying. Energetic, light-hearted, and filled with camaraderie, participants were united by a shared mission that transcended individual achievements. The sense of purpose and passion for plant-based strength and athleticism was palpable throughout the festival.

Sponsors Fueling Success

The team's sponsors, Plant Fusion vegan protein powder, Ultima Replenisher, Unisoy Vegan Jerky, Healthy Truth Badass Nuts, and WhatIF Foods BAMnut milk and noodles, played a pivotal role in fueling the athletes for their remarkable achievements. These sponsors not only provided essential nutrition but also contributed to athlete swag bags, allowing non-vegan competitors to experience the benefits of a plant-based diet firsthand.

Educating and Inspiring

The Vegan Strong PlantBuilt team did more than secure medals; they ignited conversations and dispelled myths. Athletes and spectators alike were eager to engage with the team, seeking insights into their diet and lifestyle. These interactions became opportunities to educate and inspire others to explore the possibilities of plant-based athleticism.

Challenging the Status Quo

The myth that meat and animal products are prerequisites for top-level athleticism remains persistent. However, the Vegan Strong PlantBuilt team's resounding success at the Mr. America Sports Festival shattered these misconceptions. Their remarkable achievements across multiple sports left even the staunchest skeptics questioning their preconceived beliefs about vegans. This seismic shift has the power to plant the seeds of change and encourage individuals to reconsider their dietary choices, even if in small steps toward a more plant-based lifestyle.

The Vegan Strong PlantBuilt team's triumph at the 84th Mr. America Sports Festival stands as a testament to the limitless potential of plant-powered athleticism. Its mission to promote the benefits of a plant-based diet has never been more evident, and its legacy of success continues to inspire and challenge the boundaries of what is possible on a vegan diet.
